When you use Recap, we may collect the following data:

  • Photos and videos you upload or create using your device camera

  • Audio recorded for videos (if you record video content)

  • Timestamps (e.g., when content is created or shared)

  • Contacts (only with your permission, for group and friend features)

  • Date of birth

  • Device ID

We do not collect any location data, even approximate.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Create and manage your Recap account

  • Let you share content with friends and groups

  • Ensure app functionality and prevent abuse

  • Communicate with you about updates or issues

  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics.

3. Use of Third-Party Services

We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing, analytics, or advertising purposes.

We do not collect user location data.
We do not share any user data with third parties.

Photos and videos are securely stored using Amazon S3 (AWS) for the sole purpose of preserving your content within the app. These files are not accessed, analyzed, or used by any third-party services.

4. Data Hosting

  • Recap’s backend is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • The iOS app itself is not separately hosted—it runs on user devices.

5. Account and Data Deletion

  • You can delete individual posts, videos, photos, and other content within the app.

  • You can permanently delete your Recap account in the app via Settings → Delete Account. This removes your user profile and personal information; some content you’ve posted may remain. For assistance, contact support@recapmobile.com.

6. Age Restrictions

You must be 13 years or older to use Recap.
By using the app, you confirm that you meet the minimum age requirement. If you are under 13, please do not use Recap or provide any personal information.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you

  • Request corrections or deletions

  • Contact us with any privacy-related concerns
